Knit for Victory with Inspector Norse and Aunty Social

Duncan Hodgson finds out about all-new Swedish crime thriller, Inspector Norse, and how you can get involved in making part of the set with local community arts group, Aunty Social. Inspector Norse comes to Blackpool's Grand Theatre on Monday the 15th October 2012 and is sure to be a thrilling adventure full of mystery, and of course, yarn. Interview: Blackpool Urban Dance Project

Duncan Hodgson chats to Michelle Ramsey and finds out about Blackpool Urban Dance Project. Duncan: How did you first get into urban dance? Michelle: I have always loved to dance as far back as I can remember, but my passion for Urban Dance really started when I moved to London to attend dance college. This is where I took my first Streetdance / Urban dance class, and although it was very different to anything I had done before, I thought was great - especially the fact that it was a great dance style it was to the music that I…

Round Of Golf, Adolf?

Round Of Golf, Adolf?

Lizza Lane gives you her thoughts on Blackpool's newest and most controversial art installation. The new art exhibition which has arrived in Blackpool’s Grundy Art Gallery has become the centre of debate since its opening last week. The exhibition, named ‘Doug Fishbone and Friend’s Adventureland Golf’ is a nine-hole crazy golf, with each work created by different artists. Each hole represents an aspect of life, all with a (possibly ironic) overtone of fun. However, there is one hole which has caused quite a storm. It features none other than Adolf Hitler! The figure was created by Jake and Dinos Chapman, London-based visual…

Interview: Karima Francis

As part of altblackpool's Illuminations Week, Duncan Hodgson chats to local singer-songwriter Karima Francis who is performing at this Friday's Illuminations Switch On. Duncan: How did you first get involved in music and make that initial break into the industry? Karima: It was weird because I started drumming at school, I was a bit a naughty kid.
