The exhibition aims to be illustrative of the diverse range of artwork being produced throughout Blackpool and the Fylde Coast today.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_single_image image="31534" img_size="medium"][/vc_column][vc_column width="2/3"][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Once again they have decided to waive the submission fee for artworks…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] White Vinegar (each day from 2pm & 4pm) Lancaster Arts invites you to a four day online workshop exploring what it means to clean, and to be clean in a post pandemic world. The White Vinegar Workshop revolves around a quote from leading New York Artist Mierle Laderman Ukeles; “After the revolution, who’s going to pick up the garbage on Monday morning?” We are inviting applications from artists, cleaners, writers, activists and others to observe and interrogate the iconic act of cleaning, revealing this as a sociopolitical action through performance art and self documentation. This workshop is open to…

My Favourite Things – preserve your lockdown learning in film

‘My Favourite Things’ is an international film collaboration project aiming to capture what people might want to remember about recent events. The positive might include cleaner air, recognition for the medical and caring professions and the return of nature, in places. It’s been a time to reassess priorities, spend time with the family and rediscover old pastimes. Although predicted for decades, the virus managed to take the world by surprise, mighty governments behaving like rabbits caught in…

Is There Anybody Out There? Recording disabled people’s experience of lockdown

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Life over the past few months has been many things; scary, confusing, the world feels smaller. We can’t rely on the things we usually enjoy, or see the people we want to see. Blackpool-based performance artist Helena Ascough is one of four artists to be commissioned by Lancaster Arts. She will create a new spoken word performance that contemplates the things we are thinking about while we cannot leave our homes very often.
