Love reading? Up for a competition or two? Then Waterstones in Blackpool has it covered! The store on Bank Hey Street, just behind the tower, is running two great competitions which are sure to appeal to book lovers.
First up is the chance to win a pair of tickets to see 1984 at the Grand Theatre – and you’ve got two ways to win. Pop into store, answer a simple question and fill in an entry slip and you could be the winner of a pair of tickets and a limited edition Penguin Classics copy of the George Orwell novel.
If you’re on Twitter, there’s another way to win a pair of tickets and a promotional copy of the book, just follow @waterstonesbpl and retweet their competition tweet to enter. The closing date for both competitions is September 24 and the winners will receive a pair of tickets for the performance of 1984 on Wednesday, October 1 at 7.30pm and a Penguin edition of the novel, courtesy of Waterstones.
Lovers of young adult fantasy will already be familiar with the fantastic Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. There’s a signed copy of the third in the series, Heir of Fire, to be won in an in-store competition running until September 16. Just pop in and fill out an entry slip.
Youngsters are catered for too. On Sunday September 28, at midday, children’s picture book author, Pete Lynas, will be at Waterstones to read from his new book, Madeleine Goes to the Moon, and sign copies for the children. It’s a free event and promises to be lots of fun.
