The February Showzam! Festival has varied in duration and format over the years, but the ever present has been the Carnival Ball in the fabulous Tower Ballroom. And, if you would never miss the night, or are looking for late Christmas present ideas, now is the time to snap up tickets before the price increases.

Cogniscenti will know there is always a theme to the ball giving the opportunity for party goers to dress a little flamboyantly. Or perhaps a lot flamboyantly in the 2017 incarnation, with Mardi Gras the order of the day. Expect purple, green and gold to be much in evidence but don’t be put of attending if your colour palette is more subtle.

The Carnival Ball invariably features an eclectic mix of entertainment and the upcoming offering is no exception. The compere will be Pete Anderson, who is also a juggler and Rubik’s cube specialist. Live music comes in the form of Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, who fit the theme with a unique twist. In their own words ‘New Orleans meets 90s club classics – a rave funeral without the body’.

Broken Heart DJ Amber will play a set with sounds ranging from the 1920s to the present day. The circus element will come from contortionist Pixie Le Knot, hoola hooper Polly Hoops, daredevil Spikey Will, dancing acrobat Felicity Footloose and escapologist Rob Roy Collins.

If that’s whetted your appetite for the 11 February event tickets are now on sale. Book before the end of the month you can get them for £12 each, in the New Year they will go up in price to £15. Tickets can be purchased via the VisitBlackpool Tourist Information Centre on the Promenade, or online via visitblackpool.com/showzam. As in other years this event is for over-18s.

There is no link to the booking site. Where do we book please?

Sorry have found the link now. Will send this out to everyone I know. Great price this year, should be a floor filler.
