Uptown Girl meets Rocket Man

Pianomen

If you love the music of Billy Joel and Elton John, two of perhaps the most quintessential singer songwriters of the 20th century, then this show, Piano Men: Generations at the Grand Theatre, is just for you. For one night only father and son, Terry and Nick Davies, perform the music of these two prolific songwriters.

Featuring this talented musical duo and accompanied by their 7-piece band and backing vocalists, this show is currently one of the favourite shows on Disney Cruise Line, and is now on its World Tour. It is their first performance in the UK, as they stop off at Blackpool’s Grand in the middle of their successful European tour.

Terry and his wife Anne were celebrated local artists here in Blackpool in the 1990’s and headlined on Central Pier and Layton Institute. Their son Nick made his first stage appearance here at The Grand Theatre. The family then moved to the States and since then they have appeared in concert all over the world including the famous Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. They have now come full circle as they head back home to Blackpool with their unique show.

The audience can look forward to favourite classics such as Piano Man – Your Song – Rocket Man – Candle In the Wind – Up Town Girl – Movin Out – Only The Good Die Young – as Terry & Nick take them on a musical journey through the careers of these two music icons. Not one but two grand pianos will dominate the stage epitomising the spirit of Billy Joel and Elton John’s music.

Terry & Nick are bringing their American band with them for the show but they say there will be a few Blackpool-based surprises so this promises to be a memorable night. Maybe the next best thing to seeing the real icons.

Piano Men comes to the Grand Theatre on Sunday 25 June. For more information or to book tickets visit blackpoolgrand.co.uk or call 01253 290190.
