Marine Hall’s Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival has firmly established itself as a signature dish on the local culinary calendar over the last four years. It returns for the fifth edition on Sunday 20 August with added ingredients.
New for this year will be nutritional therapist Katharine Tate, aka ‘The Food Teacher’. Katharine will be doing cooking demos and talks focused on healthy eating. If you are keen to get a better understanding about how the food we eat affects our bodies, health and even how well we sleep then this is not to be missed.
The staple dishes of the festival will continue. There’s everything a foodie could wish for including seafood, cheeses, chutneys, chocolates, and preserves. There will also be some tempting wines to try and buy, refreshing ciders, specialist coffees, traditional teas and some delicious fruity liqueurs on sale.
Janet Heald, Events and Front of House Manager at Marine Hall said “We are particularly delighted this year to welcome lots of new exhibitors including Healthier Fleetwood, Fylde Coast YMCA and The Food Teacher. Whilst we all enjoy our food, and the festival is a chance to celebrate that, it’s important to remember the impact that food and drink have on our health and wellbeing. These new exhibitors will allow our visitors to pick up some tips and recipes to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
It’s half term so younger foodies will also be kept occupied. As well as the culinary features they can do sand art with Kids Be Happy, and animal mask making with the RSPB. And of course the beach is right next door…
The event runs from 10am to 4pm. For more details visit www.marinehall.co.uk/foodfestival.
