The compassion provided by the team at Trinity Hospice to patients at the end of their lives and children with life-limiting conditions is, for those who have witnessed its benefits, beyond monetary worth. Each year, however, the fundraising team at Trinity are tasked with finding £4.5 million to keep its services running. Fortunately, they’re a creative bunch and there are a number of ways in which the hospice raises these funds.
The Trinity Lottery gives away £1,500 every week and is a simple way to give a little each week. One off donations are always welcome and there are Trinity Shops across the Fylde Coast. The shop on Talbot Road now boasts a range of shabby chic upscaled furniture and all of the shops are heaven for lovers of vintage, bargain paperbacks and unusual gifts.
There’s no shortage of people willing to give up their time to raise money for Trinity in entertaining and innovative ways. Here is a selection of the events scheduled over the next ten days:

St George’s Day (there will be a flag-raising ceremony but I can’t honestly say I know what this entails, beyond the obvious)
Wednesday 24th April
St George’s Day Tea Dance at the Grand Marquee on Lytham Green – 1pm to 4pm
St George’s Day Festival Comedy Night at the Grand Marquee on Lytham Green – 7pm to 10pm
Thursday 25th April
St George’s Day Golf Tournament – Tee off at 7am
St George’s Day Quiz Night at The Old England – 8pm
Friday 26th April
St George’s Day Festival Lunch – 12pm to 6pm
St George’s Day Festival Black Tie Gala Ball – 7pm to 1am
Band Night at The Red Lion – 7.30pm
Sunday 28th April
St George’s Day Festival Family Fun Day – 11am to 4.30pm
