Host announced for Showzam! Carnival Ball 2014

While Cinderella was giving herself blisters, climbing social ladders in impractical footwear, there was no sign of the fairy godmother at the Prince’s ball.  Was she back in bed, tucked up with her electric blanket, Caramel Baileys and Strictly Come Dancing?  I think not.  The fairy godmother, who, as we all know, IS Annette Crosbie, knew that if you want real entertainment you bypass the peacocking of would-be royals and slide between the contortionists, ring-masters and jugglers at the carnival.

The Showzam! Carnival Ball is a much anticipated event in the Blackpool calendar.  Put Saturday 15 February 2014 in your calendar now and get those tickets booked because reduced price tickets are available now (until 31 December!).  The event packs a thousand people into the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and this time there’s a 1950s theme to celebrate the golden age of variety and rock ‘n’ roll so it’s a cracking excuse to get out your vintage shizzle and wurlitzer around on the parquet floor.

The host this year is the former mayoress of The Borough of Camden.

Need another clue?

She founded an Olivier award-winning theatre company and nightclub.

You there yet?

She co-hosted a SONY award-winning radio show with Danny Baker for ten years, has appeared on Celebrity Fit Club, Harry Hill’s TV Burp, 10 O’Clock Live and is originally from New Jersey, USA.   Oh, and she has written for The Huffington Post and The Times and she produced and hosted the World’s First Lesbian Beauty Contest.

You guessed when I mentioned Camden didn’t you?

Yes, this year’s Showzam! Carnival Ball will be hosted by the gorgeous, the hilarious, the wildly entertaining Amy Lamé.AMY LAME PRESS
